Contrary to the majority of contemporary analytic philosophers religion, James Sterba argues in his book Is a Good God Logically Possible? (2019) that Alvin Plantinga with famous free will defense has not succeeded solving logical problem evil. However, is alone disputing this generally accepted view philosophy religion. D. Z. Phillips (1934–2006) argued evil been solved and he further holds it even got off ground. The aim article explore Phillips’ criticism free-will mainstream theodicies. His critique relevant for Sterba’s atheistic stance because arguments are partly applicable forms philosophical atheism share same assumptions theism. In first part article, I briefly describe starting points best-known solutions religion refer some aspects arguments. After ethical conceptual against frameworks used discussion theodicy.
